Trap has come a long way since it’s recent rebirth and this week’s variety pack mix is a prime example of that featuring 32 fresh (but varied) tracks in just over 90 minutes. Ranging from Trap styled music influenced by the Mainstream, EDM Festival music, Ambient/Downtempo, Rap, Trance, House, R&B, Juke, and whatever else, this mix features a little of everything. As Trap’s popularity grows it’s inevitably becoming more influenced and combined with all kinds of electronic music, creating endless subgenres and loosening the boundaries of what might be considered actual “Trap”, for better or worse. And whether you like it or not, this trend is only going to continue as Trap grows in the EDM and mainstream music scenes and as it goes, alienating some initial fans along the way. One thing we can confidently say is that Trap isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and A State Of Trap will be here for the ride.
To get your A State Of Trap fix, you can now check us out in all sorts of places like iTunes, Mixcloud, Soundcloud, even the occasional live Mixify set. To listen to the mixes in full 320kbps audio quality (now with chapters too!) simply subscribe to the #1 “trap” podcast on iTunes below and A State Of Trap will appear in your iTunes as soon as hits the inter nets.
We’re back with another hour-long mix by Flashflooder to start off the week, with loads of new trap and trill to check out.
Also exciting, we’re now on the iTunes Music Store, meaning that complete strangers can now find our podcast if they type “trap” into their podcast searches. Will anyone ever do that? It remains to be seen.
